WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21Get Schooled On WASH Learning Sessions
Building on the momentum from World Water Day 2011, the safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) learning sessions are an opportunity to foster greater understanding of the WASH issue among civic groups, development sector professionals and the general public. The learning sessions for World Water Day 2012 are divided into four separate modules. The first module lays the groundwork and explains the fundamentals of the global safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene challenge. Each additional module builds on the previous by incorporating other aspects of WASH. The final module will bring all participants together for a plenary session focusing on sustainability, partnerships and working at scale to solve the global WASH issue. The topics and intended audiences are:
- WASH 101: Learning the Basics
- Audience - Individuals unfamiliar with the WASH issue
- WASH 201: Sustainability Impact and Monitoring & Evaluation
- Audience - Individuals unfamiliar with the WASH issue
- WASH 301:
- WASH and the Urban Environment
- WASH and Economics/Finance
- Audience - WASH and other sector professionals with an advanced knowledge of the WASH issue or who participated in 101 and 201
- WASH 401: Partnering for Sustainability, Advocacy and Scale
- Audience - Anyone interestedin WASH

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21A Drink to the World: Celebrating Success in Water and Sanitation This evening of celebration will highlight the positive outcomes of providing people with access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). This event will focus on the positive results of WASH through individuals’ stories whose lives have been changed due to WASH, performances by artists influenced by WASH and speeches from political, philanthropic, and cultural leaders.

THURSDAY, MARCH 22Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill Participants from around the world are joining together for Advocacy Day to show their support for safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) issues and urge continued support from Members of Congress.
