Getting Involved
On March 22, 2012, supporters from around the world are joining together to show their support for water, sanitation and hygiene issues (WASH) and urge continued support from their Members of Congress. Join us to meet with Congressional offices to let them know that we need greater U.S. leadership for WASH.
WASH is one of the most cost-effective interventions available to improve health and reduce poverty. The benefits of investment in WASH are evident in the life of a girl as she grows up: Access to WASH will prevent her from dying from diarrhea and other water-related illness as a child, allow her to attend school instead of spending hours collecting water, and empower her to care for her children and earn an income. WASH is a key foundation for healthy and productive families, communities, and nations.
You can help spread this message! Be a voice for the nearly 1 billion people in the developing world who lack access to clean drinking water and the 2.6 who lack basic sanitation. Join supporters from across the country to call on Congress to increase support for health programs that save lives and lift countless people out of poverty.
Can't be in DC on March 22? You can conduct meetings in your U.S. city, too. Just register as an “in-district” participant and make a difference in your community!
