Juhanara never knew if there would be enough water to fill her jugs – often, there was not. As a result, she and her family used a nearby pond polluted by human waste. This led to sickness, skin disease, and when bathing in the pond, embarrassment. Today, Juhanara has clean water right by her home. Collecting water takes minutes, not hours. Water-related diseases have been reduced. And she has more time to care for her children or to work a job.
